Ferenc Krausz

Partner Investigator, Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics

FLEET Partner Investigator Prof Ferenc Krausz, as Director of the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (MPQ), worked within FLEET’s Research theme 3 in collaboration with AI Matthew Weidman (MPQ) and CI Agustin Schiffrin (Monash). Prof Krausz uses ultrashort waveform-controlled laser pulses to trigger, probe and control transient topological phases of materials, in real-time and with attosecond time resolution. Prof Krausz’s contributions to physics have been recognised in the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics, as well as the 2022 Wolf Prize for Physics.
