We are seeking a Research Fellow (Level A) to conduct research in experimental condensed matter physics and surface science. The position synthesises novel two-dimensional and three-dimensional topological materials via molecular beam epitaxy, and study their electronic properties using scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy, as well as electronic transport measurements.
As the successful candidate you will have doctoral qualification in condensed matter physics or a relevant discipline or a closely related field. Your expertise in ultra-high vacuum surface science techniques, particularly scanning tunnelling microscopy and/or molecular beam epitaxy and demonstrated analytical and manuscript preparation skills will enable your success in this position.
Based in Melbourne, the fellow will be working with FLEET Director Prof Michael Fuhrer at Monash. What we are looking for:
- PhD in experimental condensed matter physics, or a closely related field
- Strong background adn expertise in ultra-high vacuum surface science techniques, particularly scanning tunnelling microscopy and/or molecular beam epitaxy
- Demonstrated analytical and manuscript preparation skills; including a track record of high-impact, peer-reviewed
publications in experimental physics, surface science and/or materials growth.
