Dr.

Isabela Alves de Castro

Research Fellow, RMIT

Dr Isabela Alves de Castro is currently working as a scientist at Avertana, Auckland, New Zealand, an engineering company that turns steelmaking-waste into valuable raw materials. Dr Isabela was a Research Fellow at FLEET in 2018 at RMIT University working with Prof Kourosh Kalantar-Zadeh on FLEET Enabling technologies A (atomically-thin materials) and B (nano-device fabrication). In her work, Isabela used room-temperature liquid metals to synthesise nanoparticles and two-dimensional nanomaterials, applying surface chemistry modification and electrochemistry. Those materials will be key to the development of new low-energy electronic devices.
