Prof.

Catherine Stampfl

Scientific Associate Investigator, University of Sydney

Prof Catherine Stampfl is a theoretical condensed-matter physicist who studies the atomic and electronic structure of solids, surfaces, interfaces, and nanostructures. She uses first-principles calculations to gain fundamental understanding of the behaviour of matter and to predict new and improved materials for technological applications. Within FLEET, Prof Stampfl worked with CI Xiaolin Wang on the study of superconductivity in two-dimensional systems, surfaces and interfaces to contribute to the knowledge and discovery of novel superconducting materials with enhanced Tc.
