Partner Investigator, California Institute of Technology

FLEET PI Prof Gil Refael’s theoretical phyics research within the Centre’s Research Theme 3 concerned a variety of activities associated with Floquet quantum states as well as driven quantum systems, in general. Prof Refael seeks ways to stabilise unique and novel many-body states using a periodic drive, including anomalous topological states, exhibiting protected edge and surface states that have no static (non-driven) analog; kicked rotor systems; and Majorana-supporting driven systems.
