PI Prof Qi-kun Xue is VP for Research, Director of the State Key Lab of Quantum Physics, and Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. As a FLEET PI, Prof Xue coordinated the collaboration between Tsinghua University and FLEET, including a significant exchange program of student and postdoctoral researchers. Xue pioneered high quality thin films of topological insulators and first demonstrated the quantum anomalous Hall effect. Within FLEET, he provided critical insights in novel 2D topological insulators in the quantum spin Hall and quantum anomalous Hall phases in the Centre’s Research theme 1.
