Scientific Associate Investigator, University of Groningen

Tamalika Banerjee, a Rosalind Franklin Fellow, is a Professor at the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials, University of Groningen, the Netherlands. She leads a research group on ‘Spintronics of Functional materials’. Her research focus is on Topological spintronics, with particular focus on studying strong correlation effects and topology in quantum materials such as ferro/antiferromagnets and their hybrids with 2D materials. A primary focus is looking at new approaches to study spin and magnon transport by electrical field control, particularly relevant for reconfigurable spintronics architecture and for applications in neuromorphic computing. Within FLEET she collaborated with researchers in Research theme 1 exploring spin transport in quantum materials that are hybrids of antiferromagnetic oxides with 2D materials.
