Yi-Hsun Chen is an experimental physicist. At FLEET, working with Prof Michael Fuhrer and Dr Chen Shao-Yu at Monash University, he researched Bose-Einstein condensates using devices constructed using 2D materials, seeking exciton superfluids in 2D material quantum wells. This research falls under FLEET research theme 2 exciton superfluids. “I aim to use 2D materials to create double quantum wells separated by a thin insulating layer, a promising structure for producing long-life electron-hole pairs, called indirect excitons. Indirect excitons are able to form an exciton superfluid, which can generate dissipationless current flows.”
