Opportunity exists for a researcher with experience in theoretical and/or computational models of charge transport and/or topological materials. The academic level A or B (depending on experience) fellow will be working with FLEET Chief Investigator Professor Jared Cole at RMIT. The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Perform high quality and creative research
- Publish research outcomes in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, contribute to high-profile conferences and workshops
- Provide advice to graduates and undergraduate research students
- Work collaboratively with the FLEET network and the RMIT Theoretical Chemical and Quantum Physics (TCQP) research group
What we are looking for:
-
- PhD in theoretical or computational physics, materials engineering, applied mathematics or similarly relevant discipline
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Non-equilibrium Greens function or other methods for modelling charge or spin transport;
- Tight-binding or effective models of nanoscale or atomically thin materials;
- Theoretical or computational models of the topological properties of materials or devices.
- Demonstrated ability to define, investigate and solve complex problems in theoretical physics and data analysis using various techniques and approaches as required
- High level skills in mathematical and/or computational modelling.
