Opportunity exists for a postdoctoral researcher to use computational approach to discover new 2D multiferroic materials that are formed either from monolayers or van der Waals (vdW) bilayer materials. The academic level A fellow will be working with FLEET Associate Investigator Professor Michelle Spencer at RMIT. The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Work with an increasing degree of autonomy as your skills and experience develop
- Perform high quality and creative research
- Publish research outcomes in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, contribute to high-profile conferences and workshops
What we are looking for:
-
- PhD or equivalent in chemistry, physics or related field
- Demonstrated ability to perform density functional theory calculations using VASP, or closely related software, and perform the associated data analysis and interpretation, is essential
- Experience in modelling two-dimensional materials is preferable with an emphasis on multiferroic materials for nanoscale devices
- A good track record of research output including publications, conference contributions and/or technical reports in the field
