CI Prof Elena Ostrovskaya is an internationally recognised researcher in theoretical physics of atomic Bose-Einstein condensates with a strong track record of collaboration with experimental groups. She leads the Research Theme 2 where she directs a program of both theory and state-of-the art experiments on exciton and exciton-polariton systems with large binding energy, providing a unique solid-state platform for studies of excitonic and polaritonic Bose-Einstein condensation, superfluidity, and topologically protected transport at temperatures approaching and exceeding room temperatures.
CI Elena Ostrovskaya is also Deputy Chair of the FLEET Equity and Diversity Committee and an LGBTIQ Ally.
